Motel

Theo had been driving late at night on his business trip, and he was in the middle of nowhere. Figuring he should stop for the night, he pulled into the only motel around. It was dreary, but it was the only thing for miles. The bed was uncomfortable, the walls were paper thin, and the television barely worked. He started banging on the staticy screen. He briefly saw an image of an actress on the television before the lights flickered, he felt a jolt, and it returned to static. Theo couldn't help but feel strange from that point on. It took him a while to figure out what happened. He looked down. His body -- it had changed! He was the actress he had seen on the screen. What was up with this weird motel?

The small plane

Jonah looked around at the various passengers on the small plane. He was on his was to Exchange Island, and he wondered who he was going to swap bodies with. He saw an elderly couple and shuddered at the thought of being old for a week. He figured his best bet was probably the single mom who was traveling with her child. She was just a little older than he would have liked, but she was his pick out of everyone on the plane. As a gay man who also felt trapped in a body that was the wrong gender, he wanted to take this trip just to experience being a woman, if even for a little while. As the plane landed, he braced for the swap.

He was surprised when he found he didn't swap with anyone on the plane, but instead switched with someone on the ground at the beach. he brushed a strand of hair from his face and looked down. This body was simply gorgeous! To make things even better, he was surrounded by four very attractive men fawning attention on him. For Jonah, this was a dream come true!

As usual, Ed arrived early to work the next morning. He couldn't wait for Rebecca and Gus to show up, so that he could get out of the office and start selling! He thought about how many he could sell this week. First, he had the advantage of Rebecca's body. A little flirting and he was sure he could boost the price up. Then there was the desperation he heard in people's voices yesterday. This could create a great mix for an even better week!

Didn't wait

Wilber didn't even wait for his vision to come back after he was blinded by the white light; he could tell something was wrong. He fumbled around to look for a mirror before his eyesight returned just enough to see his reflection. It was all still a little blurry, but it was certainly wrong. An attractive woman looked back at him instead of his own male face. Even the mirror and the table it was above was unfamiliar. Who was he? Where was he?

Hilarious

Katie followed her brother Jeff closely. She couldn't believe he hadn't noticed anything amiss yet. She called up one of her friends and she burst into giggles. Jeff stopped, and Katie's heart skipped. Had he finally caught on to what she had done to him?

He turned.

"Like, what are you like laughing about? And why are you like following me, Sis?" Jeff asked.

This only made Katie laugh more. Not only had she used magic to transform him into a girl, he was now also talking like a valley girl, and he didn't realize anything was wrong at all. This was hilarious!

Ed was the only one to come to the office for the next few days. He dressed casually in a t-shirt and jeans instead of the usual blazer. He didn't expect any calls, but he figured he could catch up on some paperwork. He felt uncomfortable at his own desk. Maybe he just couldn't get his chair to the right height for his new body or something. He eventually settled for sitting at Rebecca's work station. It didn't really matter since he was the only one in the office. After about three days of nothing, the line rang. And soon it was ringing off the hook. People were interested in sales and rentals after the Great Shift switched them into new bodies with no places to go. Ed figured he'd call Rebecca and Gus back in tomorrow and start showing some houses!

Eventually

Joel wasn't sure he was ready. It had been two days since the Great Shift swapped him into Rita's body. He knew he should change his clothes; he knew he should shower. However, he was uncomfortable. He felt like seeing Rita with her clothes off would be totally violating her. Yet he knew he would have to eventually.

Ballet

Sure, Richard was a little shocked by the Great Shift. Everyone was nearly frozen with fear when they suddenly found themselves swapped into a different body. Richard was no exception when he found himself in the body of child in a ballet class. But then things got REALLY weird. Unlike everyone else effected by the Shift, he quickly started aging, ultimately turning into a full grown woman. Oddly enough, the ballet outfit grew with him, thankfully; though he certainly looked silly as a grown woman wearing an outfit intended for a child. He was also thankful that he wouldn't have to do through puberty again, but he was wondering why he was the only one who seemed to magically age.

Party

Gavin and Rodrigo were preparing for their first ever party in their off-campus apartment when a strange light engulfed their home and they were swapped into the bodies of the two women who lived on the floor below them. Both were pretty shocked, but neither wanted it to screw up their party. After putting some finishing touched on the apartment, the guys got ready. Gavin threw on an old sweatshirt, but Rodrigo went all out. He wore a stunning black dress to show off his new body. Gavin was a little suspicious, but decided to overlook it for now...the first guest was here!

In light of the recent body swapping, Ed insisted on sending Gus and Rebecca home for the day. Rebecca was far too dedicated and tried to insist on staying, but after they heard reports on the radio about how widespread the event was, they all decided there probably wouldn't be anyone buying houses today. In fact, they were all a little worried that they might not be selling any houses for quite a while. Ed tried his best to comfort Gus and Rebecca. He told them he'd still be paying them a base salary, enough to get them through any downturn. They left still a little worried, but reassured by Ed's promises. Ed stuck around in the office a little while longer. He was happy to be all alone with his fabulous new body. While he certainly couldn't wait to take advantage of having this new body while trying to sell houses, for now he'd just be taking advantage of having this body.

Statistically unlikely

It had been about five years since the Great Shift. It had seemed statistically unlikely, but all of Fred's closet male friends had swapped with women. Fred, too, had become a woman thanks to the Shift. They had all adapted to their feminine roles quite well. In fact, it was Fred who had the hardest time with it. All the others had gotten married and become pregnant. Fred was a few months behind them. He had finally accepted he was a woman now and finally settled down. He'd be joining his friends in motherhood soon enough.

Drank

John returned to his home after a fairly intense workout. He had forgotten to bring water along, so he went into the fridge and grabbed the first thing he saw and chugged it. As soon as he did, his body instantly transformed into a woman. He didn't know what exactly was in the bottle. His wife must have picked up whatever it was somewhere. He'd just have to wait for her to get home, so he could try to figure out what the heck he drank and (hopefully) how to solve this.

Monday morning (Part 1)

After a slow weekend, the small real estate office opened its doors on Monday morning when Ed arrived to unlock them. Ed was a gray haired man who had started the company in his youth. He was always the first arrive and last to leave. Rebecca usually arrived shortly thereafter. Ed always thought the attractive brunette could use her sexy body and sell a house without saying a word. Of course, her dedication and hard work allowed her to excel in the field. Meanwhile, Gus always arrived a little late. He could get away with it with his smooth talk. The three hadn't even received a call when it happened. A strange light that engulfed all three, swapping their bodies. Each of them were shocked to find themselves in the other's body. Rebecca was terrified to be in Gus's body. She had become a man! Gus was weirded out by being in Ed's body; he certainly didn't want to be old. While Ed was shocked to be in Rebecca's body, he instantly recognized the advantages of being a young, attractive female. However, he kept any joy he might have well hidden.

Unlike

Once Max realized what had happened, he made a face. He couldn't believe he had swapped bodies with some chick! Sure, she was hot (thank goodness for small favors -- he'd hate to think of how he would feel if he was ugly), but he still didn't like the idea of being a woman. He was a dude! He didn't want to have to feel these bouncing orbs on his chest or this strange void between his legs. And, God, he'd have to wear a bra now! And he'd be getting a period before a month was up. He didn't like the idea of this at all!

Saturday

After an exhausting week at work, David spent most of Saturday sleeping on his hammock in the backyard. At about 3 o'clock, he heard a nagging voice.

It whined, "Daaaaad!"

David assumed it was his daughter as it had her intonations, but the voice had seemed much too deep. He reluctantly flipped around and opened his eyes to see his own body standing there. He looked down to confirm what he now already suspected. He had swapped bodies with his daughter!

Or was this a dream? Maybe he was having a nightmare. That would be the cliché, right? He tried to think back if he had yelled at her for staying out late or dressing provocatively. If she had shot back that she was now eighteen and that he couldn't tell him what to do anymore. He couldn't remember a single incident like that. He got along great with his daughter.

Out of phase

When astronomers discovered the object, there was panic. It appeared to be a minute black hole in the sky that was capable of moving, and it appeared to be moving at a rapid rate in the direction of Earth! As time passed, and the trajectory was more closely pinpointed, they downgraded the panic to "near miss." Still, even with the possibility of the object passing a few light years away from the solar system, scientists warned there could be some strange consequences on our planet.

And strange things did happen when the object was at its closest.

Jim was walking outside when he suddenly saw what appeared to be his own body walking ahead of his. There was another copy of him a few feet back as well. Soon enough there were thousands of him walking in a line, and he felt like he occupied each of those bodies at the same time. Then the bodies changed, it was thousands of different people, and he once again occupied them all simultaneously. Just as he thought his mind could no longer handle it, the number of bodies condensed back to three -- but not three of his body. They were three copies of one of the other people on the line, a young blond woman in a leather jacket.

He still felt in control of all three bodies. The only difference was timing. One would do an action first, followed by another a little later, and the third would then repeat the action at an equal interval. It was confusing to wrap his minds around. He was longer concerned about getting back to his own male body; now, he was just concerned to getting back to a singular body!

As advertised

A few weeks ago, Carl had received an odd mailer that advertised body swapping. Inside the catalog were pictures of various women and men. It seemed a little odd, but he was tempted enough to select a picture and send a check. Delivery was promised in 4-8 weeks. Sure enough, about a month later, Carl woke up with a woman's body. He looked down. The body was just as skinny and pretty as advertised. His only possible complaint might the size of his breasts. He could've sworn they were bigger in the catalog.

What he always wanted.

Chris had dreamed about this for years. He had been obsessed with the idea of becoming a woman, and not just any woman, he dreamed of swapping bodies with his friend, Lauren. It was probably one in a billion shot that when the Great Shift hit, it caused him to become her. It was an incredible dream come true. However, there was also a bit of a let down. He wanted to appreciate the fact that he was now in her body, but he missed the longing. He looked down. His deepest desire had been granted, and now he was left with nothing to dream about.

William was completely terrified. If the genie in his body told him to do anything, he HAD to do it. He was still trying to grasp this thought when she spoke up.

"I'm going to see what the outside world is like. You stay here. I'll be back." She told him.

"You're leaving me alone like this?" William seemed a little panicked to be by himself. He knew he would have to obey the command of staying, but it still made him uncomfortable to be alone.

The genie sighed, "I see you picked that up as well. Genies have a natural fear of loneliness, but it will be good for you."

And with that, she went outside, leaving William. He was scared at first, even more afraid than he was due to the body swap. He didn't like being alone, but then he started exploring his new body. He had to admit, it was a hot body. Plus, he was now magical -- if he could figure out how to use the magic.

Miss Parker

The first night after the Great Shift, many were hopeful that someone would find a way to reverse the Shift or that things would just sort of fix on their own after a certain amount of time. Aiden certainly hoped so. He felt very awkward in Miss Parker's body. Sure, she was one of the youngest teachers at his school, but she was still a teacher and still a woman! In this new body, it meant that Aiden skipped his college years. It also meant he was adjusting to clumsily walk in heels and the awkwardness of wearing a tight short skirt. As the days passed, he became less and less hopeful he'd ever get back to his own body and became more and more comfortable with the fact that he was going to be in Miss Parker's body forever.

First

Many television stations rushed to report on the Great Shift as soon as they could. With newsrooms in chaos, it often proved to be difficult. Years later, many people often wondered what the very first newscast was. It turned out, the very first had already become a big of a viral hit on the internet. There were a few stations broadcasting their regular local news at the time. Many finding themselves in the body of a news anchor simply froze up, but not all.

The woman only paused for a moment. She was midsentence and started blurting out uncensored obscenity, "What the f*ck? What the f*ck is going on? Where am I? Why are all the words -- I can't make anything out? What language is that? Holy sh*t! Why do I have boobs? I'm a chick? Why am I suddenly a f*ckin' chick?"

It wasn't exactly good reporting, but people who saw it knew they weren't alone in their sudden body swapping.

Portal

Everyone at the laundromat was puzzled when a fairly attractive woman wearing a sheer skirt and high heels walked in, opened a dryer, and attempted to fit inside. The woman seemed puzzled by the mere fact that she didn't fit inside. Of course, an hour ago, she hadn't been a woman. She had been a man named Jack. He was just minding his business when a strange portal appeared. Out of curiosity, he entered. The portal led to this dryer in this laundromat in this alternate universe. As soon as Jack entered the portal as himself in his own universe, he exited the portal as this woman in this one. He had walked around outside for a little while before deciding he wanted to get back. What he didn't realize was the portal never stayed in one spot for very long, and it had moved on from the laundromat a while ago. Unless he could find it again, he'd be stuck in this new body and in this new universe.

Meditation

A little bit of concentration and a little of meditation. That's all it took for Stephen to be able to take control of Lisa's body. He figured it would be just as easy to get back. He hesitated at first. He actually enjoyed being in her body, but he ultimately decided he better get back to his own body. However, concentration proved to be difficult to come by. Lisa's attractive body was the first distraction. She just didn't seem to have the same zen he had, making it difficult as well. He still kept trying.

Obey

Just a few hours ago, Andy had slipped a small microchip into one of Danielle's favorite hats, which so ironically read "OBEY" across the front. He waited by a large machine back at his house until a light indicated she was wearing the hat. Then he strapped himself in, and soon his consciousness was wirelessly transmitted across town. He was now in complete control of Danielle's body. He couldn't believe how sexy she was -- how sexy he was until he took off the hat. That was, of course, the one limitation. Once he took off the hat, his joyride in Danielle's body would be over. He began to postulate alternate places for the microchip. Maybe in a barrette or a necklace. Or perhaps somehow attached to her glasses. If he developed such a device while still wearing the hat, he might never have to leave Danielle's body. He couldn't be truly sexy wearing a baseball cap, right? He needed to work this out now!

Flexible

Malcolm didn't know the woman he swapped with during the Great Shift. He didn't know her name, where she lived, or who any of her friends were. She had no purse or ID with her at the time of the incident. The only things he knew about her were what he was able to figure out from her body alone. For instance, he knew she was flexible...very flexible. It was certainly one of the many joys he took from being in this body.

Emergency room

Walter had injured his foot while horsing around with some of his friends. He had waited a long time to see a doctor, but he wasn't even diagnosed before his physician had run off to an emergency. The doctor did accidentally leave some pills behind. Walter popped one and felt instantly better. He soon found himself popping a second and a third. Then the pills started to change him. He was transforming into a woman! Still, he couldn't help but pop a few more pills. He stole a nurse's uniform to cover his newly feminine body. However, as he downed a few more pills, his breasts started to grow outward, bursting free of the uniform. He had more problems now than when he came in, but at least his foot wasn't hurting anymore!

The engineers fired up their machine yet again; this time they'd be transforming what they were wearing. Once again, each of the men picked something remarkably similar. All of them opted for a short-styled dress along with some black heeled ankle boots. One of the men turned woman quickly postulated a theory that their teamwork may be more than a mere desire to pursue the science of transformation. The others just didn't care; they were simply pleased with the changed.

"Don't worry. I'll be a good Master." The genie assured William, though he was a little skeptical.

"What does that mean? Do I lose all free will?" William asked.

"Of course you do! You have to do anything I say and grant any wishes I make, but as long as I'm not asking anything of you or wishing anything, you can do anything you want. You can even use my magic once you get the hang of it."

"I'm honestly not sure how I granted that last wish. It just sort of happened, but I didn't feel anything."

"Don't worry. You'll figure it out. Now dance for me!"

"What?" William asked, a little taken aback by the sudden request, but he soon found himself unable to control his body as he started to dance. He was in total shock and screamed, "Why am I doing this!?"

"I told you. You have to do anything I say. I'm sorry. I've just never been on this side of things before. That was a little mean of me, I suppose."

"Well, then, can I please stop!?"

"Oh, yes, sorry."

After screaming with the ride operators and amusement park staff some more, Joshua took a bit of information from the woman he swapped bodies with, whose name was Nadine Kim. They agreed to meet the next morning for coffee to discuss what to do next. Spending the night in a woman's body was a strange experience. Joshua found it hard to sleep. The next morning was worse. He felt awkward seeing Nadine's naked body while showering, and he struggled to put on a bra. He arrived a little late to the coffee shop where Nadine was already researching on the computer.

"The amusement park has never lost a lawsuit." She told him.

Joshua grumbled.

"It's not all bad news." She continued, "There are a slew of sites dedicated to body swapping. I've read a few things from people who claim to have swapped bodies after reading stories on this one site, Great Shift Captions, and another that even offers magic spells to switch with someone. I mean, we both probably would've laughed at this stuff before as being bogus, but now that we both know body swapping is totally real, don't we have to at least try as much as we can to switch back?"

"I'm just hoping we CAN switch back! I'm not sure how many days I can stand getting ready in a woman's body."

"Well, if we don't, you're going to have to get used to it."

Nine (Part 1)

Being a genius level engineer had its advantages. The first was the genius grant, which provided a huge amount of money to pursue ideas. The second was to team with other geniuses to pool resources and make those dreams a reality. The group of nine men had all thought up a similar idea, a transformation device. With their collective intelligence and generous corporate financing, creating such a device was no problem. The men were all eager to test to device, each with a thought in their head about the type of person they wanted to be transformed into. When the device was activated, it read their thoughts and changed their bodies. Interestingly enough, they each had a similar thought in their heads. They all wanted to be transformed into women, Asian women, between the ages of 18 and 29. Sure, there were slight differences in appearance, hair color, and so on, but it was uncanny how much these men truly had in common.

Shorter

Bill had been close to seven feet tall before the Great Shift. He got an entirely new perspective on life when the Shift swapped him into a woman's body that was just shy of five feet. Instead of looking downwards at people, he now had to look up. It was odd needing a step ladder to reach the high shelves in his own home. Being so dramatically different in height was one thing. On top of that, he also needed to get used to having an entirely new gender.

The two stood silent and stared at each other for quite a few minutes. Maybe there was a bit of a delayed hope that the wish might somehow be granted or maybe they just didn't didn't know what to say. It was the genie (in William's body) who finally spoke up first with an interesting thought.

"I wish that I knew why we swapped bodies." She said.

"Yes, Master." William said on instinct. His jaw dropped. "Why did I just say that!?"

"Because you have to." The genie replied. She took a deep breath. "Allow me to explain. There was this worldwide incident caused by...Well, that part is a long story. But it has happened to just about everyone. People are calling it the Great Shift. Almost everyone swapped bodies...including us. But my powers stayed with you. You're the genie; you can grant wishes. And I'm your Master!"

Cool

Gwendolyn was furious. She stormed into the room and yelled at Ryan with fury. Ryan took it in stride. He simply shrugged. He didn't know why he had swapped bodies with her, but he wasn't going to get too upset about it. His calm demeanor made her more angry. However, no matter how upset she got, Ryan didn't respond in kind. He just took it cool as a cucumber.

As soon as the ride stopped, Joshua threw off the goggles and helmet. He even tossed the woman's coat. He got a hold of his anger for a moment and put on a smile to address the ride operators.

"I think there's something wrong with that ride!" Joshua said, "It switched our bodies!"

The lead operator shrugged, "That's what it's advertised to do. I've never tried it myself."

"Are you kidding me? How is that legal? How is that even possible!?"

He shrugged again, "You signed a waiver when you came into the park."

"I demand you let us back on again this instant to switch back!"

"There's still an hour long line you'd have to wait through, and the park closes in about 30 minutes. Plus, even if I let you cut, the ride doesn't switch people back. You both are stuck like that for good."

"What!? We're stuck like this?" The woman in Joshua's body suddenly interjected, "I thought it was only temporary!"

Timothy didn't know what he was going to tell his sister. He had looked through all of the books several times now, and there didn't seem to be any way to switch back. Her threats had been pretty harsh, but what could she possibly do? After all, he was the one in her body now. To punish him would be to punish her, right? He shrugged. He really didn't mind being in his sister's body. He hoped she would learn to enjoy being in his.

William made another quick wish for money. Lots of money. After the genie granted the wish there was a weird flash. It seemed odd since his previous wish didn't involve any sort of magical flash; it had just happened with little to no fanfare. Then he realized he was looking at the room from the opposite perspective. His view had changed, and he could no longer see the genie. He could only see...himself!? He looked down to find that he was now in the scantily clad body of the genie.

"Genie!" He said forcefully, "I wish to know why we suddenly switched bodies!"

"Yes, Master!" She replied. However, nothing seemed to happen.

Or else (Part 1)

These old books that Timothy found in the attack had gotten him into this mess; he was sure that if he kept reading they could get him out of it as well. The first book he had read had a strange magical spell that caused him to swap bodies with his sister, Alana. She was pretty upset about the whole thing. She told him he had 24 hours to find a way back...or else. He had been scanning the books ever since.

Blamed

Tyler looked down at the caller ID on his phone. It was Peggy...again. She still blamed him for the swap, despite the fact that he had nothing to do with the accident that forced his mind into her body. Peggy hated being in Tyler's body, and she was very vocal about her misery. She talked his ear off for an hour. Tyler just rolled his eyes. He figured he'd let her get it all out. The problem, of course, is that she always seemed to have more inside of her.

Not amused (Part 1)

Joshua was intrigued by one ride at the amusement park. He hadn't heard much about it, but the line was quite long. He was sure that with a line like that, "The Switcher" must be a great ride. It took several hours for him to get to the front. The cars of the ride only had two seats, and he ended up sharing his with an Asian woman wearing a puffy pink coat. After being strapped in and even given helmets and goggles, the two were off in their car. It felt like one of the most intense roller coasters ever. Joshua even found himself screaming. The car began to whip around at very intense speeds and in such a way that Joshua found that his soul was literally thrown from his own body. When the ride finally settled down a little, his soul ended up settling inside the body of the Asian woman he shared the car with. "The Switcher" had swapped the bodies of him and the woman. He screamed again, but this time for very different reasons.

William had a long, rough day at work. He had been so busy that he hadn't even had time to eat. When his day was finally over, he reached into the company fridge, grabbed his brown bag, and went home. However, when he went in to eat his lunch back at his apartment, he opened up the sack to find he had grabbed someone else's bag. There was no food inside, just some weird reusable metal container. He figured he could apologize to whoever's bag he had taken by cleaning the container. As he rubbed the outside, the strangest thing happened, smoke billowed from the container, and soon a woman appeared from out of the smoke! William was in shock!

The woman spoke first, "What is your wish, Master?"

"Excuse me?" William asked.

"I am a genie, and you are my master!"

"No way! Genies are real! I must be hallucinating from hunger. I wish I wasn't so hungry!"

The woman wiggled her nose, and sure enough, William was full.

Easy

Mike sighed, "Okay, I get it! I'm sorry! I've been stressed out at work lately; I never meant to stop helping out around the house, and I never meant to suggest that what you do all day is easier than what I do. But you've got to switch our bodies back, Marisa! I've got a huge meeting tomorrow. If you go in my place, you're going to get me fired!"

Looking for a little sympathy

Todd was having a hard time adjusting to his new femininity after the Great Shift swapped him into a woman's body. However, it seemed few were sympathetic to his difficulties. He knew there were others in the world who had their gender shifted, but he seemed to be the only one who he knew that it happened to. His friends simply told him to get over it. He had expected his sisters to help him out, but they merely laughed at him. They told him it was about time he had to go through what they had been experiencing for years.

The summer came to a close, and Jose was ready to return. He hoped enough time had passed. If it hadn't, he was sure he'd hear from Emily very soon. Instead, one of Emily's friends saw him. She seemed releaved. No one had heard from the real Emily for a month, so seeing what she thought was the real Emily was a joyous moment. Jose knew exactly what happened. He had seen some of the finer details of the spell. If he stayed in a copy of Emily's body, Emily would slowly turn into a copy of him. It would affect her mind as well; she'd start to think she really was him. At times, he wanted to tell Emily's friends his secret; he felt so close to them now. But he always held his mouth. He couldn't reveal that secret. Ever.

Weight for it

Jason didn't understand why Lea was doing this to him. He took her at her word when she said the initial body swap was an accident, and he believed her when she said they'd be able to switch back in a week. But then there were all sorts of conditions. She told him not to gain a single pound; if he did, she'd refuse to switch back. As a result, Jason had been maintaining a strick workout routine while in Lea's body. Of course, what he didn't consider was that muscle actually weighs more than fat. It may not look like he was gaining any weight, but when the week ended, Lea would be sure to put him on a scale.

Too soon

Uh-oh! Kevin looked at himself in the bathroom mirror. He had transformed back to his old self too soon. The spell wasn't supposed to wear off until midnight; it was only 9PM. He was beginning to panic. Earlier in the evening he had cast the spell to transform himself into a woman so he could seduce John and obtain blackmail material for John's wife in upcoming divorce proceedings. It had gone so well that they were soon in a hotel room alone together. Kevin had excused himself to the bathroom to slip into something "more comfortable," but as he finished stripping down to a bra and panties, the transformation spell suddenly wore off. Kevin was stuck without a way out; he had no idea what he was going to do.

Preconception

The red dress was Ryan's first clothing purchase after the Great Shift. He had been a little hesitant to buy it, but he figured he needed to start getting used to purchasing women's clothes and it looked good enough when he tried it on in the store. However, when he tried it on back at home, he couldn't help but think he looked so much fatter than he had in the mirrors at the store. He knew his new body wasn't fat, but it was hard not to think of it as such. He tried to tell himself it was an illusion. The feeling was especially weird considering how much bigger his male body had been. But he had developed an unrealistic expectation of the female body over the years, and now that he was one he just couldn't shake that preconception.

What's the harm?

After a strange experiment swapped Tara and Michael bodies, she advised him to lay low until they could find a way to switch back. Michael was never one to heed warnings, and ended up going out a little more often than he should. In fact, even when he was going to some place as mundane as the grocery store he decided to make Tara's body look as good and noticeable as possible. He often wore a short dress and did up his makeup. He touched it up in the store as he looked at himself, admiring how good he looked. Of course, he wasn't the only one who saw how good he looked. A man in the dairy aisle saw him and approached him. Michael couldn't believe it; he was getting hit on! Soon he agreed to dinner. What harm could one date do?

Two people

Joel was becoming quite impatient. He put his hands on his hips and asked again, "If there's something in that book that caused us to switch bodies, then there has to be something in there that will cause us to swap back, doesn't there?"

"I tried! I looked!" Kelly said while still frantically searching the pages, "There doesn't seem to be any sort of reversal."

"Did you try just reading the original spell again? It swapped our bodies once; maybe it will do so again!"

"I tried that several times! It seems like a one shot deal. I think once two people swapped, they can never swap again!"

After the tests were over, Jose asked Emily for a favor. He wanted to stay as a copy of her for the summer. He promised he'd be miles away, so that there would be no risk of seeing them both in the same place. Emily shrugged and agreed. She couldn't imagine why Jose wouldn't want to go back to being himself. She knew her body was awesome, but were guys into being girls? That seemed odd to her. Jose, of course, was ecstatic. Not only would he be spending the summer in Emily's body but if all went according to plan, his life was about to become a lot better.

Several years had passed since the Great Shift. Tyler had graduated from college and had gone on to be quite successful. He was ready for his reunion to see his sorority sisters again. He really had a lot to thank them for. After all, they were the ones that encouraged him to change his major; it was also the sorority's connections that helped him climb the corporate ladder so quickly. He didn't think about his life before the Shift anymore. He could barely remember what it was like to not to be a woman, and he was perfectly okay with that.
